Boy or Girl?

I'm approaching that time in my pregnancy when I get to decide if I want to know the gender of the fetus. I've read many articles about the pros and cons of knowing the gender, and it just comes out to a personal preference. Then I got to thinking about all those wives tales about how to 'make' a boy or girl based on things you do/eat.

Out of curiosity, what kind of things have you heard/read about how to 'make' a boy or girl? or how to 'tell' if it's a boy or girl?

Someone at a restaurant once told my friend that if her pregnant belly seemed "low", then it was a boy. And if it sits "high" then it's a girl.

Another person once said that if it's a boy, then morning sickness is more severe.

gosh, my mother used to have all sorts of superstitions on how to tell if its a girl or a boy but in the end, through watching many people's pregancies, I could never find real correlations for any of them.

They are silly, ie if the belly looks broad and round = boy. If the belly is "pointier" = girl
She also did this trick with an egg where she put a boiled egg on top and studied the way it rolled......... arn't they silly, I think the best way to tell is to wait for the sonogram to tell you, even so, sometimes those can be wrong. My cousin had a pink nursery ready for her baby girl until she gave birth and it was a boy! =)

@Ester... haha yeah they're usually silly, and yet people still follow those theories sometimes! My friend does one, where she has the pregnant mom pull out a hair from her own head, and place it in her 'elbow pit' (as I call it, akin to the arm pit, but at the elbow joint). After a minute or two, she unbends the arm and that strand of hair will either be straight or kinky. I think straight meant it would be a boy? Kinky meant it would be a girl? Something like that.

here is a tread I noticed during my pregnancies. When I had my girls, I always craved salty foods. When I was pregnant with my boys, I craved sugar. It was consistant with sisters pregnancies as well.
