Ambien- your experience with it

At first when i started taking ambien, i slept through the night fine. I was talking 5mg a night. after a while i figured out that i wasnt sleeping entirely through the night and so i started taking 10mg. well, here's the old part. when i take a whole 10mg pill, i have NO memory of what happened the night before. I could be reading a book and when i wake up the next day, have no idea i had read that far into the book. I have also had my husband tell me that i've have full on conversations with him, AWAKE...but i have no memory of it.

I read an article of a story of a man that took two ambiens and ended up driving to his ex gf's house, having sex with her and ten having no memory of it the next day.

has anyone expereinced this odd side effect?

I just took my first Ambien for travel. I was worried about the jetlag and having to work in another country, so I took one my first night in Singapore. I didn't notice any strange side effects like this, but maybe that is because I only took one.

I tried it once, but I did not feel anything. Not even feeling sleepy. I do not know why.

be very careful with excessive sleep medication. My sister increased her dosages because they weren't effective on her anymore. One day, our neighbor found her at the end of the street in her PJs, she was sleep walking and didn't know it! She didn't stop the pills and we cough her sleep walking several more times in the house before she realized how dangerous it was that she can possibly end up outside, while sleeping and walking around.

I think that Greg is probably right. Sleeping aids could be addictive and may require increasing doses. I have heard many warnings about consequences of abusing sleeping aids as well as anti-depressants. They could be dangerous and even lethal in some cases.

I've heard good things about Ambien from friends. I've tried Xanax for adjusting between time zones, and it's worked fine.

2 weeks , I am a basket case, never did sleep. I wanted to but my mind just wouldn't obey, like be quiet! I am just one of those when it comes to medes, that is chemically imbalanced, you never know what your gonna get when I try something.

What works the best and that would be about 8 nights a month on a good month would be Rozarum (msp?) and as I have anxiety I take morning and night clonepan low dose. On a normal routine I do pretty well. It is known to be non-adictive.
