About Me: With a BA in Psych, MA in Special Ed, and four years of a PhD program in Disabilities and autism on my CV, I've learned that 'experts' are not always professionals with high degrees, but they can be random strangers who share your experience. By helping each other, we can slowly fix the broken system.
Location: Berkeley, CA
Interests: Autism, Alzheimer's, mental retardation, special education, minorities in education
Funniest medical moment: I had an abnormal pap one time so I got a 2nd pap done. Then I went to the obgyn to hear the results of the 2nd pap, which turned out normal. "Yay! I'm NORMAL!" I yelled with a big grin on my face. My obgyn --- who was a funny man who wore bow ties --- said, "Um well, Talesa, I wouldn't say YOU're normal... but your test result was!"
Medical Conditions: Potentially Alzheimer's and osteoporosis down the road, and whatever else comes my way.
Health Interests: Dermatology, Hygiene, Women's Health
